Dr. Alethea Eller
I understand the journey toward optimal health and healing that you are on, because it is one that I have been on my entire life. Health is in my family’s blood. It is in our genes.
My great grandmother Viola was tiny, spunky, and lived alone nearly to her 100th birthday. Her approach to health and wellness was intuitive. She would drink the water that her veggies were cooked in because she knew vitamins and nutrients cooked out of the veggies and into the water. My grandmother was a small town nurse in southern Missouri, and she taught my mom and her other children knowledge of the body. She passed on the wisdom that the body can heal, it was designed to heal. My mom passed this same knowledge onto me. We were raised knowing that moving our body was a way to take care of it and continue feeling good.
My own early work in chiropractic care, nutrition, and acupuncture helped me share the lifestyle supports that I grew up on with my patients. I began to see patients return with the same problem over and over again. I started to dig deeper and question what the underlying causes of their health were.
A turning point came for me when my own son developed eczema as a baby. When our doctor offered only steroid cream prescriptions and no insight about the cause, I turned to alternative approaches for answers. After working with a renowned practitioner in Chinese medicine who identified that my son’s eczema was rooted in a negative reaction to dairy, I was hooked.
I immersed myself in learning about functional and Chinese medicine. I was inspired to ask questions and dig deeper with patients to understand the cause of their symptoms. I had to use all of my understanding of physiology and how the body was designed to function to target where an underlying imbalance could be creating symptoms. This is where I developed the skill and art of whole body healing.
Today, I am humbled to engage with patients and share my knowledge of the physical and emotional body and the lifestyle tools that have been passed down to me for generations.
People don’t come to me because they want to stay the same. They want something different than what they are currently experiencing. If you are ready to find answers to your health questions, I am here for you. If you are ready to take control of your health, I will walk this path with you.
